Our Glacier rugs are defined by the interplay of the materials which work together to constitute them. Swatches of cowhide sit beside carefully selected pieces of sheepskin, each chosen for its particular depth of texture, height and tone in relation to its neighbours. Laser-like lines of hide criss-cross to produce planes between them, their linear structure in stark contrast with the rug’s natural materials and their subtle shadow play. The immaculate white of this piece owes its brilliance to the hide of charoláis cattle – milk cows whose shiny, silky hair grows the colour of champagne.
