Miksi’s woven alpaca rugs are made by hand with ancestral knotting and looming techniques, using fibres from the highlands of Peru. The dye processes, too, are handmade: using natural or biodegradable pigments, artisans in the Andes work on small batches in tradition and harmony with nature. To make a rug’s base, we tie thousands upon thousands of knots – one square inch is made up of between 100 and 800. Our alpaca is amongst the highest-quality in the world, and is sourced – like all our raw materials – with the utmost consideration for quality and sustainability. Miksi’s commitment to natural processes and fibres see that we don’t just mean well – we do good, too.
